Celebrating the Year of the Dragon, this JA 1 pays homage not only to the Chinese Zodiac's only mythological creature, but also to Ja's status as a one-man fast break.

Behind the design

Look for the dragon graphic on the insole and a gold dubrae on the laces, shaped in two circles to represent Ja's signature goggles celebration gesture. The graphic and gold Swoosh design are inspired by the Golden Dragon, which represents strength, wealth and harvest. The red Swoosh logo outline symbolises good luck. The white upper represents the clouds Ja flies through en route to the rim, while the icy-blue outsole nods to water. Both colours are homages to the tattoos on Ja's arms.

Personal touch

The handwritten repeating 12am graphic speaks to his mindset of approaching every day with a grind mentality. Ja's signature, logo and jersey number are also sketched in his own handwriting.
